Alyssa Pagan

Alyssa is a Senior English Creative Writing major. A fun fact about her is that she interned at Ramo Law PC during her time at Bradley's Hollywood Semester in LA. Now, she plans to further pursue her career within the entertainment industry and working on publishing her own poetry and prose. Until graduation, she plans on investing her time in serving others through her organizations on campus.

Sarah Hazenfield

Sarah is a Junior English Secondary Education major with an ESL endorsement and minors in Creative Writing and Literature. A fun fact about her is she got really into puzzles during COVID. After graduation, she plans to be an English teacher in her old school district, travel Europe, and publish a book. She enjoys baking, crocheting, and reading.

Charlotte Tolly

Charlotte is a User Design Major with dual minors in Graphic Design and Cybersecurity. She joined Broadside her freshman year to get more involved on campus and showcase her artwork. She loves poetry and gouache painting but has been more into digital art the last couple years. She loves Broadside because, "it's an amazing opportunity to showcase local artists, and it's just really cool to say your work has been published in a magazine."

Stella is an English Creative Writing major with a minor in Ethics. She joined Broadside in 2021 because she loved the idea of being part of a community of writers and artists as well as getting to see other students' incredible work! Her favorite media to both read and write is poetry.

PROSE: Justin Frerk

Justin is a Creative Writing and Actuarial Science double major. He joined Broadside as an evaluator in Fall 2022, evaluating for all three sections of art, prose, and poetry. He wanted to learn how to improve his own forms of writing by evaluating and understanding the successes of other writers. He enjoys prose fiction writing because he loves the thrill of exciting and wacky plots, and enjoys making pencil drawings of video game aliens.

ART: Finley Shellabarger

Finley is a Creative Writing and Psychology major with a Women and Gender Studies minor. They joined Broadside their freshman year as a poetry evaluator to get a new perspective of publishing. They believe "it is important to recognize writing as an art and [Broadside] is a phenomenal way to do that."

"Claire McQuerry is an Assistant Professor at Bradley University. She is the author of Lacemakers (SIU Press, 2012), and her poems and essays have appeared in Image, Tin House, Poetry Northwest, American Literary Review, Creative Nonfiction, and other journals."
